Invitation is not evangelism. When you invite someone, you’re asking them to come and experience what you have encountered. Go with a compelling reason to attend the programme. Remember, the labour begins with you, not the preacher or the ministers.
Key Factors to Consider When Inviting People
- Build Connection: When meeting someone for the first time, focus on building a connection and engaging with them.
- Know the Program Details: Be well-versed in the details of the programme.
- Highlight the Benefits: Intentionally communicate the benefits they’ll gain by attending.
Bible Reference
John 4: How Jesus built a connection with the Samaritan woman.
Evangelism
It is sharing your personal experience of Christ (Acts 1:8).
The Five-Finger Method for Evangelism
- Thumb Finger: Introduction and familiarization.
- Index Finger: Share who you were before meeting Christ.
- Middle Finger: Describe how you met Christ and who you are now. Mention the sacrifice of Jesus for humanity.
- Ring Finger: Explain who you would have been without salvation.
- Little Finger: Invite them to accept the life of Christ.
